二.课程教学的主要内容 (一)理论部分 1. Unit 1 Ocean Exploration (自学) 知识点: (1)从语言、语境、文化层面透彻地理解文章; (2)了解并扩展关于“海洋探索”的词汇,并习得在特定的语境中恰当地使用与主题相关的词汇与表达; (3)能就海洋的重要性、海洋研究、海洋目前的研究状况等话题展开积极的讨论; (4)熟悉论证文的写法,并进行练习。 重点: (1)单词:explore, survival(al后缀), assume, influence, vital, elusive(ive后缀), impact, array, overlook(look词根的单词), hostile, expertise, reveal imperative; (2)词组:on the heels of, as yet, provide or, a drop int eh bucket/ in the ocean, learn about, in one’s entirety, die from/ of, feed on, crack open, fit together, fit into, for sb’s benefit/ for the benefit of sb. ; (3)语言点:kind of/ sort of用法;like/unlike用法;need to do sth.;以 “It is imperative that…” 为代表的表语从句型的虚拟语气。 难点: (1)引导学生梳理文章的组织和篇章结构。理解作者的论点(claim/ argument)以及作者列举了哪些理由支持其论点,理解什么是相反主张(counterclaim/ counterargument),以及作者如何驳斥相反主张; (2)用思维导图的方式收集“海洋探索”有关的词汇和观点,并融合应用这些词汇引导学生在相关主题上展开讨论; (3)从讲解作为一篇典型论证文的课文出发,使学生熟悉论证文的写作,并展开练习。 2. Unit 2 China in Transition (8学时) 知识点: (1)从语境、文化层面透彻地理解文章; (2)了解并扩展关于中国城镇化的词汇,并懂得在特定的语境中恰当地使用与主题相关的词汇与表达; (3)引导学生利用所学词汇、短语等就城镇化对中国城市和乡村的影响、对人们生活方式的改变展开积极的讨论,书写段落; (4)如何通过段落的主题句清晰地表达主要思想; (5)关于中国城镇化的话题完成本单元听、说、读、写、译等方面的练习。 重点: (1)单词:urbanization, distinguish (dis-开头单词含义共同点梳理), neighborhood(-hood结尾单词梳理), campaign, host, trace, boost, spin, swing, scatter, tuck, resourceful, recall(re-开头单词含义共同点梳理), dramatic, border, contribute, stock, dispute, acquire, obvious, intact, doom, essence, threaten(-en结尾单词梳理), initial, creative, routine, suspend. (2)词组:pass through, be characteristic of, play a role in, bundle up, step up, hang around, at the head of, be entitled to, take advantage of, along with, be open to, attend to, make history, dwell on, move out, draw out(out相关常用词组归纳), move in/into/to, lay low. (3) 语言点:动词加了 “ing”后转化为形容词修饰名词;“in order to” 不定式可以用于表示目的状语;“if anything” 虚拟语气的用法。 难点: 将城镇化对中国城市和乡村的影响、对人们生活方式的改变的背景知识、词汇、文化知识较自如地运用到讨论和写作中。 3. Unit 3 Job Hunting (8学时) 知识点: (1)从语境和语言层面透彻地理解文章; (2)扩展关于求职主题的词汇,并懂得在特定的语境中恰当地使用与主题相关的词汇与表达; (3)能明确目标雇主对求职者的要求,求职者又如何清楚地向他们呈现自我认知,以及如何做好准备才能在面试中取得成功; (4)进行模拟工作面试,学会如何回答面试官的难题,培养面试策略,提高交流技巧并消除真是面试前可能有的紧张情绪; (5)学会写求职申请。 重点: (1)单词:senior, worthless, criterion, attribute, assess, validate, leadership, humility, beware (2)词组:mess up, sum up, as opposed to, come up with, be faced with, care about, in particular, have one’s eyes on (3) 语言点:缩略词构词法的几种形式;With/Without …, +句子 (表示对后面句子的补充说明,类似于非谓语结构);To sum up, … (表示总结)。 难点: 模拟工作面试和求职申请的写作。 4. Unit 4 Women Nobel Prize Winners(自学) 知识点: (1)从语境、文化层面透彻地理解文章; (2)了解并扩展关于“女性诺贝尔奖获得者”的词汇,并懂得在特定的语境中恰当地使用与主题相关的词汇与表达; (3)分析女性在工作环境中所取得的成绩以及她们所面对的压力; (4)如何能按照时间顺序写出一份好的简历; 重点: (1)单词:grant, property, brilliant, intrigue, detect, intense, hypothesis, coin, suspect, donate, stir, conclusion, isolate, extract, purify(-ify动词后缀), contribution, nominate, portable, exposure (2)词组:break out, object to, by the end of, little by little, a great amount of, arrange for, subsist on, look forward to, be bombarded with (3) 语言点:should表示虚拟语气的用法;If (it is) true/possible/right … 难点: 将与“女性诺贝尔奖获得者人数远远低于男性”话题的背景知识、词汇、文化知识较自如地运用到讨论和写作中。 5. Unit 5 Cyber Language (8学时) 知识点: (1)从语境、文化层面透彻地理解文章; (2)了解并扩展关于“网络语言”的词汇,并懂得在特定的语境中恰当地使用与主题相关的词汇与表达; (3)能分析网络对语言的影响; (4)能写结构完整的看图作文。 重点: (1)单词:misunderstand(mis-前缀), priority, engagement, disaster, concise, economic, globalize, respond, executive, harsh, negative, qualify, rare, context, communicate, mobile, switch, streamline, dump, evolution, evolve, personality (2)词组:get ... across, have an effect on,conform to, have a way of doing sth., excel in, only if, be vital to, as a whole, sharpen up, impact on, at best, be ingrained in, filter into, hail from, creep into, specialize in, kill off (3) 句型 There’s no doubt that ...;The same goes for ... 难点: 将与网络语言相关的“表情符、绘文字”话题以及“网络对语言的影响”话题的背景知识、词汇、文化知识较自如地运用到讨论和写作中。 6.
